WHAT IS MOODLE™?

SqoolTools provides a free Moodle course for K-12 teachers.
Moodle™, the most popular open source VLE, was developed by Martin Dougiamas.  Moodle™ is an acronym which stands for Modular Object-Oriented  Dynamic Learning.  Moodle™ has also been referred to as the "Swiss army knife"  of instructional technology tools as educators sometimes use a single Moodle™ software feature to address many instructional issues.   Moodle™ open-source software  is being utilized increasingly in K-12 Schools to created "walled-gardens" in which allow students to enjoy all the benefits of emerging technologies while at  the same time protecting them from the perceived dangers of working online.
